I just got rejected from an internship I applied for. It was a 10 week internship to work in an university lab and you get paid as well. It would have been an amazing opportunity for me. But no. Instead, I'm starting to have a line of "rejections" in my career life. I always seem to get rejected from high end jobs like I don't belong there. I feel like I'm not meant to be amazing things. I really wanted that internship. I feel so sad. What am I going to do now? I have exams coming but I need to stress about finding internships in a lab as well.

A bit of Star Trek
I can't believe Leonard Nimoy died on Friday. I have this weird aching feeling when I think about it. I really like Star Trek (watched Star Trek:The Original Series Season 1 and 2 so far. I'm aiming to watch the Next Generation and the films too as soon as I get the chance). He was a really cool guy. I watched some of his interviews, he seemed like a really wise old person. I think it's more saddening because I'm thinking at the back of my head that "Spock is now really dead". It's so hard not to get attached to these heroic characters.
I really liked his logical and rational way of thinking. One of my favourite scene of Spock was in the episode "This Side of Paradise" when he talks about "Self-made purgatory". It's such a beautiful scene. This scene demonstrates the strength of his character and that he is not weakened by emotions. I get that he is Vulcan but he is also half-human. He could have been with a woman who would love him but he doesn't want that, he puts his duty first. It takes real courage and strength for a person to reject love-something most humans can't do.

Another reason why I like Star Trek so much is because of the way they portray the universe. They make it seem like there is so much out there to be discovered. I also like the idea of Starfleet academy where you can get trained to be a crew member in a Ship. And if you were really good, you could be a Captain! That would be so amazing!
*Sigh* Too bad it's not real. They'll just stay in my fantasy world, maybe becoming real in a few hundred years.

Snippet of me
First post. Starting to write a blog to help improve my writing style. Apparently, one needs 10000 hours of writing practice to be good at it and I really need to improve my grammar as I will need good writing skills in the future.
21 and living a happy life in London. Pretty happy with the way life is right now. Appreciate everything I have: family, friends going uni.
I have a feeling things will just get a whole lot more difficult as I get older.
